Setting the Great Fire of London in School!

We built our Tudor homes and then watched them go up in fire to re-enact 'The Great Fire of London'. The fire spread quickly because the houses were made of wood and close together. We invited the Fire Brigade to come into school to help set our houses on fire and safely extinguish it. We set the scene in the playground by arranging the house models to resemble a London street in 1666. The Great Fire started at the bakery of Thomas Farriner.

This has been an excellent way to end our London topic and we would like to thank Evesham fire brigade for giving up their time and making this possible.
