Yesterday we made some Spanish senorita gingerbread men and Spanish biscuit flags for the Macmillan coffee morning. Today we all came dressed up, it was great fun. We looked at information about Spain and leant some words, we even said 'good day' in Spanish to Mr Croke. We made some Spanish flags before we learnt some colours in Spanish that helped us finish a picture. We even had an afternoon siesta! :-)

We have been looking at our five senses, touch, taste, smell, sight and hearing. We then spent time testing our senses in different ways. We tried to recognise the sounds in the sound bag by closing our eyes. We then took it in turns to try different types of food, including lemons!:-) a sight test, where objects were removed and the children had to identify the missing objects. We also smelt different smells, some of us liked the mint and peppermint!

We have all settled in well so far in Year 1. We have had fun getting to know Mrs Hickey, Mrs Daniels and Mrs Capaldi. This week we have done role playing of 'Funny bones' changing the story and making it more exciting! We have also been comparing lengths of each other.
