Rule Britannia

Here are our Wishes for the Genie.

We then started our topic by looking at England and focusing on London. We wrote postcards about our visit to London then created our own Crown Jewels and below is a photo of the 'Kings and Queens of Year 1'!

Then we looked at Northern Ireland and Scotland. The children made their own Leprechauns, Loch Ness Monsters and Had a go at paper weaving to create their own Tartan.

A busy few weeks in Year 1, keep your eyes peeled for what we will be learning about next!!

Goodness me, it's been such a long time since we posted, we do not know where that last term went.
We looked at all the different continents of the world and the animals that live there. We created different jungle animals using paper plates.
Towards the end of the term, we were concentrating on our Christmas Play 'Bethlehem's Buzzing', which was a fantastic production and the children learnt their lines and sang amazingly, we were very proud of them.

We have started 2014 by writing New Year Resolutions, which are hanging up in the classroom so we do not forget what they are!!
Our topic this half term is 'Rule Britannia' we have thought about what we could be learning about and decided to make our role play in Buckingham Palace, here is the start of it. the children want their portraits of themselves as Kings and Queens to go in as well as have a throne with the crown jewels!!
We have also been so see Aladdin at the theatre and written our own wishes.
More pictures to follow as well as an update of all the fantastic things we learn about our country.
