October and November

After half term we learnt about Guy Fawkes and why we celebrate Bonfire Night, we created Bonfire and firework poems and pictures.

Then we started our science topic where we learnt about Sound and Hearing, we looked at how we hear, how far we can hear aswell as how instruments make their noises. This linked in to our topic for this term which is 'Around the World with Animals'. We have begun the topic by looking at where we might find different animals (farm, British Wildlife, Pet or another country) we then looked at the different animal groups (e.g. Fish, Birds, Amphibians, Reptiles, Mammals or Insects) and we created a fact sheet to inform people about the different groups.

Finally on Friday we celebrated Children in Need so we wore spots. Mr. Holdstock had his hair cut. Here are some photos from that day.

Year 1 celebrating that Sedgeberrow School raised £555!! Well done

We have also started to rehearse the songs for the Christmas play and next week we are going to start practising the whole thing!!

We haven't posted anything on here for a while.
Before half term we celebrated Harvest, said Goodbye to Mrs. Fitzmaurice and Mrs. B.
In class we learnt about Martin Waddell, Arcimboldo and Florence Nightingale. We also had a wheels day and here are a few pictures of us enjoying 'Our Wheels'!

We have come back after half term and learnt about Guy Fawkes, we have written poems and made Bonfire pictures.

We look forward to starting our new topic.
