Update

Hi there,
It's been a while since we last wrote on here so we thought we'd let you know about all the things we've been up to.

Our topic this half term is: Light and Dark and Final Destination. We were visited by the RNLI who talked to us about keeping safe, we have learnt about lighthouses and how we get light and dark.
We have learnt about Katie Morag, the Isle of Struay and physical and human features.
This week we have been learning about the channel tunnel.

Today we have had a creative morning and made our own lighthouses from our designs, we hope you like them.

Elvis Presley

This week we have been learning about Elvis Presley and we found out he was the King of Rock and Roll. We learnt about his life and what he did and also we found out he died on the toilet - which we found funny!!

We looked at the costumes he wore on stage then designed our own using glitter and crayons.

During our free time we create different things, even Elvis's out of lego. Below is some that we have made.

Starting topic

Last week we looked at our first Famous person - Roald Dahl.
We celebrated his birthday on 13th September and looked at the different books he has written.
We watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and designed our very own Chocolate bars.

We read the Enormous Crocodile. We made Enormous crocodiles and thought of adjectives to describe him.

1st week in Year 1

We have been leaning about 'Ourselves', we have learnt about our senses and different body parts. We played 'Simon says' to help us remember them. We have painted portraits of ourselves thinking carefully about our faces.

We looked at our baby photos and noticed changes that have happened so far. We also looked at how different animals change as they grow including caterpillars and frogspawn.
